Entrepreneurship Program Initiative of CGCC (EPIC 6)

On 12 September 2025, in Prey Veng province, Credit Guarantee Corporation of Cambodia (CGCC) and the Department of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation Prey Veng province, co-organized the EPIC 6 on “MSME’s Best Practices in Obtaining and Effectively Managing Formal Financing”, presided over by Mr. Van Sopheap, Director of the Department of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation Prey Veng province, and with honorable presence of Mr. No Lida, CEO of CGCC, Mr. Lim Minh, Executive Director of Cambodian Water Supply Association (CWA), and participated by 51 Micro, Small, and Medium (MSMEs), handicraft owners, especially Private Water Operators in Prey Veng and surrounding provinces, and management and staffs of the institutions, in total approximately 70 participants.

Through EPIC 6, MSME participants learned about “CGCC’s Credit Guarantee Mechanism to Support the Access to Formal Financing of MSMEs” through the presentation by Mr. Eng Tongngy, Director of Risk Management and Compliance of CGCC. He also shared the Utilities Development Guarantee Scheme (UDGS) with private water operators, which is designed to improve private water operators’ access to formal financing by providing credit guarantees under favorable terms and conditions.

In line with the CGCC credit guarantee mechanism, Mr. Huot Sarat, Manager of SME Banking Office of Foreign Trade Bank of Cambodia (FTB), also discussed “Bank Loans Assessment and Guaranteed Loans/Financial Solutions for SMEs” and the financial solutions that FTB could provide with private water operators and MSME owners.

In addition, participants also learnt about the training topic ‘MSME’s Best Practices in Obtaining and Effectively Managing Formal Financing’’, delivered by Mr. Tith Kamrang, Financial Literacy Specialist and founder of Rithipul Co., Ltd. Following the training, participants were divided into 4 groups and engaged in group discussions to create a one-year business financial plan based on income and expense. As a result, each group presented their financial plan and received constructive feedback from the trainer respectively.

EPIC is the flagship entrepreneurs’ capacity-building program of CGCC, providing training to MSMEs on relevant and practical topics of business operations and management for entrepreneurs, in collaboration with related stakeholders and Participating Financial Institutions.
